Digital License Terms
Last updated: June 5, 2026
Applies to every digital model (STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP, GCODE, BGCODE) downloaded from 3DPrintMe. The license that controls your specific download is whichever option the creator selected on the listing page.
1. The licenses we offer
- 3DPrintMe Standard Digital License: personal, at-home printing only. You may not resell printed copies, redistribute the file, use the model in any commercial product, service, or work-for-hire, or use the printed model as a component of an item you sell or transfer for value. The license is stored in your account.
- CC0 1.0 (Public Domain): no rights reserved. Use freely for any purpose. Read CC0.
- CC BY 4.0: credit the creator. Read CC BY.
- CC BY-SA 4.0: credit the creator and license your derivatives the same way.
- CC BY-NC 4.0: credit the creator; non-commercial use only.
- CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: credit, non-commercial, share-alike.
- CC BY-ND 4.0: credit; no derivative works permitted.
- 3DPrintMe Commercial Use License: the buyer of the file may print and sell physical copies of the printed model (not the file itself). The file may not be redistributed, repackaged, or uploaded elsewhere.
2. Universal restrictions
Regardless of license, every download is subject to the following:
- You may not use the file or printed model to manufacture or assemble any firearm, firearm frame or receiver, suppressor, silencer, auto-sear, machine-gun conversion device, explosive, or any other weapon or weapon component, regardless of whether the resulting item would be lawful in your jurisdiction. This restriction is independent of, and stricter than, any applicable law.
- You may not redistribute the raw file outside 3DPrintMe except as expressly permitted by the chosen license.
- You may not remove or alter creator attribution metadata required by the license.
- You may not use the file, the printed model, or imagery derived from either to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning, generative-AI, or similar model, or to create a dataset for those purposes, without the creator's separate written consent.
3. Creator warranty
When a creator publishes a digital model on 3DPrintMe, the creator represents and warrants that (a) the creator owns or has obtained all rights necessary to upload, license, and distribute the file as displayed on the listing, (b) the file does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights, and (c) any use of generative AI or other automated tools in creating the file has been disclosed in the listing using the AI-assisted disclosure flag. AI assistance does not cure infringement of third-party rights. 3DPrintMe relies on these representations and on the DMCA notice-and-takedown process described in the DMCA Policy.
4. Refunds for digital models
Because digital models are delivered immediately as downloadable files, all paid downloads are final and non-refundable except in the following cases. For buyers located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, by clicking the download button or otherwise initiating the download, you (a) expressly consent to immediate performance of the digital-content contract during the statutory 14-day withdrawal period and (b) acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the download begins. If you do not consent, do not initiate the download and contact support@3dprintme.com to cancel the order.
- The file is corrupt or unprintable, AND the creator has not provided a working replacement within 7 days of the original purchase.
- The model is removed for a verified copyright takedown after your purchase.
- The model materially differs from the photos and description on the listing page.
See the Payment & Refund Policy for the full process.
5. Takedowns and revocation
3DPrintMe may revoke download access to a file at any time, with or without notice, if the file is removed from the platform under the DMCA Policy, the Prohibited Items Policy, the Content Policy, the Terms of Use, or any other 3DPrintMe policy, or if 3DPrintMe reasonably believes continued availability of the file would expose 3DPrintMe, a creator, or a buyer to legal risk. Files already downloaded to a buyer's local device remain governed by the license under which they were obtained, except that the license terminates automatically as to any further use that would itself constitute infringement of a third party's rights or violate applicable law.
