Commission Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

1. Commission Requests

Buyers may post Commission Requests describing the requested scope, timeline, and preferences. Sellers may submit Quotes in response.

2. Quotes and Acceptance

Quotes may include price, shipping assumptions, production timeline, revisions included, material choices, and proof-photo requirements. When a buyer accepts a quote, it becomes a binding platform order.

3. Deposits and Final Payment

Commission payment flow may include a deposit at quote acceptance and a final payment before fulfillment or delivery. The deposit becomes non-refundable once the seller begins production, except where the commission is damaged, wrong, or materially not as described under Section 6 below. Seller payout eligibility depends on the post-delivery hold and risk-tier rules in Sections 6 and 6A of the Seller Agreement.

4. Proof Photos and Revisions

  • Sellers must provide proof photos when required by accepted quote/workflow.
  • Buyers should review proof photos promptly and request revisions with specific instructions.
  • Changes outside accepted scope may require updated pricing or timeline agreement.

5. License and Rights Responsibility

If a buyer uploads or links to model files, designs, references, or third-party model pages, the buyer represents and warrants that the buyer has the right to use that content for the requested printing or fulfillment, and that producing the requested item will not infringe any third-party intellectual property right. The seller must decline the commission where rights are unclear or appear to infringe a third party, regardless of any buyer assurance. A buyer's representation of rights does not transfer infringement liability away from the seller; the seller remains the party that made the copy.

6. Cancellations, Returns, and Disputes

Custom commissions are non-cancellable for preference reasons once the seller begins production. Commissions remain dispute-eligible within the applicable issue window under Section 7 of the Seller Agreement where the result is damaged, materially wrong, or materially not as described in the accepted quote. Normal additive-manufacturing variation, including layer lines, surface finish within tolerance, and color tone within stated range, is not a defect.
