The 3DPrintMe handbook · Edition 1.0

How 3DPrintMe works

A short guide to the three things you can do on 3DPrintMe — buy a finished print, download a model file, or post a custom commission — and how each one gets paid for, shipped, and protected.

§ 1 · For buyers

Start with what you need.

3DPrintMe supports three different buying paths. Each one has a different checkout, a different fulfillment flow, and a different definition of “delivered.”

§ 2 · For sellers

Three ways to sell on 3DPrintMe.

One shop, three product types. You can do all three from a single seller account — pick whichever fits the work you actually want to take on.

  1. 01

    Sell Prints

List physical products with materials, colors, pricing, inventory, and shipping. Made-to-order or in-stock — your call.

e.g. A keycap set you print in 5 colorways with a 3-day lead time.

  2. 02

    Upload Models

Offer STL, 3MF, STEP, ZIP, or related model files for free or paid download. Buyers print the files themselves.

e.g. A parametric phone stand .stl that fits any iPhone 12+ for $4.

  3. 03

    Quote Commissions

Review buyer requests, inspect provided files, submit quotes, upload proof photos, and ship after approval.

e.g. A buyer uploads a sword-prop .stl and asks for it in resin, painted.

§ 3 · How orders are protected

What happens behind the scenes.

Each order type uses payment processing, tracked fulfillment, and a support process scoped to what was actually purchased.

Payments & payouts

Buyer payments are processed securely. Seller payouts are released according to the order type, delivery/proof status, and applicable hold rules.

Tracked shipping

Physical print and commission orders use tracked shipping labels when generated in 3DPrintMe.

Commission proof photos

For commissions, sellers upload proof photos before final approval and shipment so the buyer can confirm the work matches the accepted quote.

Issue resolution

Buyers can report damaged, missing, wrong, or not-as-described items within the support window. 3DPrintMe reviews tracking, photos, messages, and order details.

§ 4 · FAQ

Questions people actually ask.
