Purchase Protection

What Is Purchase Protection?
3DPrintMe Purchase Protection is our escrow-based guarantee that ensures buyers receive what they ordered — or get their money back. Every transaction on 3DPrintMe is covered at no extra cost.
How It Works
- When you place an order, your payment is held securely in escrow.
- Funds are only released to the seller after you confirm delivery.
- If you don't confirm within 14 days of the expected delivery date, funds are automatically released.
- If there's a problem, open a dispute within 14 days of expected delivery.
What's Covered
- Item not received — Your order never arrived based on tracking data.
- Item significantly not as described — The item received is materially different from the listing (wrong material, color, or dimensions).
- Damaged in transit — The item arrived damaged due to shipping conditions.
- Counterfeit item — The item is a counterfeit or infringes intellectual property rights.
What's Not Covered
- Buyer's remorse or change of mind (unless the seller agrees to a return).
- Minor variations between the listing photo and the actual print (3D printing inherently has slight variation).
- Items damaged by the buyer after delivery.
- Disputes opened after the 14-day window has expired.
- Digital files or STL models.
Opening a Dispute
If you have an issue with an order, navigate to My Orders, select the order, and click "Open Dispute." Provide a description of the issue and any photos or evidence. We aim to resolve disputes within 5 business days.
Refunds
If a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favor, a full refund is issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
Seller Coverage
Sellers are also protected. Funds held in escrow cannot be reversed by the buyer once we've verified proof of delivery. Fraudulent dispute claims are investigated and may result in account suspension.
